If you haven’t already seen it, there’s a rather interesting video on WeGame showing how the hitboxes (how/where you can shoot your enemies) in Team Fortress 2 work.
Ever wondered why you shot someone and they didn’t take damage, or how you got shot when you were already out of the way, etc? Here’s the answer:
Blizzard announced Diablo 3 today, at their “Worldwide Invitational”. The official Diablo 3 website has also gone live, and has all the relevant information about the game, as well as a 19 minute long gameplay video!
It seems good old Deckard Cain is still around, yabbering away as always. Did I mention the terrain (walls/pillars/etc) are destructable? While the interface looks very similar to Diablo 2′s, it’s been changed to make it easier to switch between skills and abilities. So far this game looks incredible.
Production has begun on DOOM 4™, the next journey into the legendary DOOM universe. We are expanding our internal team and are currently hiring to work on this highly anticipated title.
“DOOM is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth,” said Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software. “It’s critical for id Software to have the best creative minds in-house to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles.”
There’s a game called “FaceWound“, a (self-titled) “Zombie Murder Simulator“, which the author of Garry’s Mod has been working on for a few years. He recently released the latest version for free, though he says “it’s totally unfinished, unpolished and should be treated with the same attitude you’d treat a leaked alpha with” – despite this it’s suprisingly bug-free, and fully playable (not to mention lots of fun).
So far the only thing people seem to be moaning about is that you don’t get extra lives or health during the game, making it rather difficult to finish. There have also been requests for “Infinite Lives” and “Infinite Ammo” cheats for it – so I decided to make some hacks ;)
A new program has just been released for Team Fortress 2, called “TF2 Stats”, which reads in one of your game files and displays all kinds of interesting information (even more than the score board does). The guy who coded it, did it over the Easter weekend – not bad for a few days work.
It just reads in one of the files (“tf2_playerstats.dmx”) from your game directory (“Steam\SteamApps\<username>\team fortress 2\tf”) – so you don’t need to give it your Steam login details or anything risky like that. I’ve taken a quick look through the code (sneaky sneaky me) and I can’t see anything malicious, so I’m presuming it’s safe to use.
The only down-side to it is that it requires the .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, or 3.5 (it has builds for all three), but then again everything else seems to these .NET these days so shouldn’t be a problem for most people.
There’s this Team Fortress 2 player, called “Reptile” (who’s really good as soldier) and there’s a video out of him on the net that’s really worth watching. I’d recomment NOT watching the YouTube version, but rather downloading the high quality version from Team Pandemic (direct link).

This morning I read about “Dota Client“, which I haven’t heard about or used before so I figured I’d download it – only problem was I couldn’t find a working download link, the “official” had a wait time of nearly and hour, and all the forums I found with it required me to register but then kicked me out every time I tried to download the file.
Someone called “blagpuss” made a Team Fortress 2 song :D you can listen to, and download, it at http://www.isound.com/blagpuss (it’s called “Need a dispenser right here”, original forum post here).
